HalleyAnna Finlay

HalleyAnna Finlay has been writing and performing her songs for over ten years.  She was raised in the country surrounded by music, with a steady diet of Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, and the Carter Family.  These days, HalleyAnna and Her Band are creating experimental country like Doug Sahm and Graham Parsons, and HalleyAnna continues to look to Ralph Waldo Emerson for inspiration.  When she's home, it's usually Neil Young on the phonograph and weathered poetry books in her hands.  She has blossomed as a folk singer-songwriter, and her music reflects real live situations. "Cold Rain," off the Starboat EP, was written in the spring of 2007 to inspire everyone to simply find the good in everything they do.  HalleyAnna’s first full length record, coming out July 2009, will showcase David Whitbeck’s stellar production work of HalleyAnna’s newest songs with the isolated sounds of prairie rock.  HalleyAnna has toured Texas with Todd Snider and Rodney Hayden, shared stages with Sunny Sweeney and Hayes Carll, and seen the world through blublockers. At age 23, HalleyAnna is currently attending Texas State University to get a degree in creative writing, and you can usually find her on her bike or in the garden.
